However, it seems that the Japanese automaker has found a solution to attract younger people: a sporty version – the Toyota Corolla GR Sport.

To compete with its main rivals that offer sporty models, such as the Honda Civic SI, the automaker decided to launch the Toyota Corolla GR Sport, but in reality, the sporty aspect is only in the name and styling, since the car will use the same traditional engine that equips the conventional Corollas.

As was the case in the development of Hilux GR SportGazoo Racing, Toyota's special division focused on sports models, also participated in the model's development project.
More aggressive look
As mentioned, the Toyota Corolla GR Sport features the same engine options as the conventional models: a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine with combined direct and indirect injection capable of producing up to 177 horsepower with a CVT Direct Shift transmission, or a 1.8 hybrid gasoline engine with up to 122 horsepower combined with two other engines. electric motors.
What really stands out about the Toyota Corolla GR Sport is its exterior design. The model features:
- Sporty bumper with larger air intakes;
- Black bar that runs along the entire front grille;
- Tinted rearview mirrors;
- Darkened diamond-cut alloy wheels;
- Rear skirt with faux air extractor;
- Lanterns slightly dimmed.
One thing that really stands out about the Toyota Corolla GR Sport is the absence of a rear spoiler. This change differs from its sporty successor, the XRS. However, it's a feature that could appear on the model if it's sold in Brazil.
