Once again, the experts at Senhor Carros have taken to the field, this time to thoroughly analyze the 2021 Honda Civic and bring you all the latest features. Let's check it out!

Honda Civic 2021: What's new in this model?

The 2021 Honda Civic lineup has already started arriving here and can be found at the brand's best dealerships. According to the Japanese manufacturer, the model will have new features in all versions.

But with the arrival of these new items, prices also tend to rise. Let's now check what these items are.

Design and technology

If there's one thing that needs to be mentioned when talking about the Civic, it's its design. Futuristic yet with a classic touch and featuring refined finishes. Today it's very difficult to find someone who doesn't visually like the model.

The good news is that it gets even better when we talk about the technology it brings to its new version.

Sophistication and refined finish, combined with cutting-edge technology, make the 2021 Civic an unparalleled car.

The first technological item is the wireless phone charger in the console, which allows smartphones to be recharged without the need for wires. Something that is becoming increasingly popular.

Another technological feature is literally in the driver's hand through a fully multifunctional steering wheel where it is possible to make calls, change gears using the paddle shift system, adjust the cruise control, and synchronize music and radio stations.

And since we're talking about sound, the 2021 Honda Civic boasts a very powerful sound system with 10 speakers, including a subwoofer. The system delivers a new musical experience.

As expected, the technology includes a multimedia center that can be paired with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems, allowing users to make and receive calls, access apps, and use GPS.

Tecnologia
Honda Civic breathes technology.

And to conclude our session on electronic gadgets, the 2021 Civic also features a Smart Key system.

With it, you can start the vehicle remotely and activate the climate control system before entering the cabin. The proximity sensor automatically unlocks the doors and trunk, and to start the engine, simply press the Start/Stop button.

So, do you think the model is technological, yes or definitely?

Extreme comfort

Something that got even better in the 2021 version of the sedan was its comfort. The model managed to reach levels never before seen in terms of comfort.

The first item to be listed is the digital air conditioning, which ensures greater thermal comfort by tailoring the temperature range chosen for each occupant.

The door opening angle is also something that should be highlighted. The front doors, for example, have 3 opening stages that can reach close to 90º, providing great convenience.

Another highly recommended feature is the trunk. The 2021 Honda Civic boasts one of the largest trunks in its class, with a capacity of up to 525 liters, ideal for large families. With internal activation, there's no need for a key to open it.

Espaço
The Civic has plenty of interior space and comfort.

Still addressing the rear of the vehicle, the rear seat is split, which facilitates access to the trunk from the front of the car, as well as assisting in the transport of longer objects.

For the driver, there's an added benefit in terms of comfort. The driver's seat features electric adjustment and lumbar support, making adjustments more practical and functional, and ensuring a more comfortable journey.

With all this in mind, it's safe to say that the Japanese sedan can transport 5 adults and their belongings in a relaxed and very comfortable manner.

Security

As important as being technologically advanced and comfortable is providing safety for all occupants, isn't it? And the Civic does that with ease.

The first safety feature to be highlighted is the LaneWatch system, which assists in reducing blind spots.

This system transmits a side image of the vehicle to the multimedia center, increasing the viewing angle by up to 4x, thus reducing blind spots.

In addition to this system, we have a multi-view rear camera that offers three different views of the vehicle, ensuring the safety of everyone around when maneuvering.

The Civic features the VSA system, which includes traction, stability, and braking assistance. This system ensures stability and balances traction during braking, guaranteeing a safer and more assertive driving experience.

For children, there is also technology in the windows that features one-touch automatic raising and an anti-crushing system that causes the window to return when it is going up if the sensor detects an obstacle in its path.

The sedan also features full LED headlights with automatic activation via a twilight sensor that turns on the lights when the light decreases.

Segurança
Safety is another highlight of the 2021 Honda Civic.

Although considered a comfort feature, the electronic parking brake with Brake Hold keeps the car completely stopped until the accelerator pedal is pressed, preventing incidents.

Finally, the 2021 Honda Civic also features 6 airbags: 2 front, 2 side, and 2 curtain airbags, ensuring the safety of all vehicle occupants for any type of travel.

Engine, transmission and fuel consumption

We now arrive at another point that has always greatly pleased owners and enthusiasts of the model: its engine.

The new Civic has two powertrain options.

The first is a 2.0 i-VTEC Flex One engine capable of delivering up to 155 horsepower when fueled with ethanol.

The second option is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that runs exclusively on gasoline. This engine features a low-inertia turbocharger and direct injection, delivering a total of 173 horsepower to the driver.

Coupled to the two engines is a continuously variable transmission. In other words, the famous CVT transmission. With seven simulated gears that can even be changed directly on the console lever or via the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

Regarding fuel consumption, the average figures for the 2021 Civic are as follows.

With the 2.0 engine fueled by ethanol, the average fuel consumption in the city is 7.2 km/L, while on the highway the average is 8.9 km/L. With gasoline, the numbers increase, and the Civic achieves averages of 10.5 km/L in the city and 13 km/L on highways.

Equipped with the 1.5 turbo engine that runs exclusively on gasoline, fuel consumption averages up to 11.8 km/L in the city and 14.4 km/L on the highway, with performance as good as the 2.0 engine.
