The "German" hatchback only has a 1.6 engine and is currently available in two versions: Connect and Extreme.

Compared to previous figures, sales of this model are still a failure. Only 10,097 units have been sold so far in 2020.

9. Fiat Uno

Here we have another hatchback that, although highly appreciated by Brazilians, both for its compactness and its fuel efficiency.

The model that was once Fiat's top seller is no longer the main star, but it remains a good option for small families or single people.

So far in 2020, only 7,274 Fiat Uno units have been registered.

8. Toyota Etios

The Toyota Etios is yet another hatchback that flopped in sales in 2020. The model, which offers two engine options and both automatic and manual transmissions, is a good vehicle for both urban use and highway driving.

The engine's power is pleasing, and the low visibility of theft also makes its insurance cheaper than many other models.

However, the Etios really didn't win over Brazilians, and its sales figures make that even clearer, with only 5,562 units sold.

7. Nissan March

The Nissan March is currently considered the Japanese automaker's entry-level model in the Brazilian automotive market.

The Hatch is yet another compact car packed with quality. Equipped with a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine, the March boasts a great deal of onboard technology, which, in the opinion of experts, makes it a model that practically doesn't present any problems.

The model still has automatic and manual transmission options, capable of performing well on highways and in cities with considerable fuel economy. However, its sales figures demonstrate its failure: only 2,208 units sold.

6. Peugeot 208

Peugeot cars evoke two feelings in drivers: you either love them or you hate them. French technology is not very open, which makes mechanical repairs very expensive when necessary.

The Peugeot 208 currently has two engine options: a 1.2 Puretech Flex three-cylinder engine capable of generating 90 horsepower with ethanol, offering good power and torque at low RPMs.

The other is an updated 1.6 flex four-cylinder engine, capable of generating 118 horsepower with ethanol. The 1.2 engine is equipped with a manual transmission, while the 1.6 only has an automatic transmission option.

The current sales failure of the Peugeot 208 was already expected, as a new, completely redesigned version is expected later this year. In total, the model sold only 1140 units in 2020.

5. Citroen C3

In fifth place, we have another car of French origin that causes concern for many people due to the emergence of potential problems that are nothing serious. cheap to solve.

In terms of engines, the model offers two options: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder flex-fuel engine capable of producing 90 horsepower with ethanol, and a 1.6-liter four-cylinder flex-fuel engine capable of producing up to 118 horsepower.

The Citroen C3 also comes in 3 different versions: Attraction 1.2 with manual transmission; Attraction 1.6 with automatic transmission and Urban Trail 1.6 with automatic transmission.

It's no secret that sales of the French hatchback aren't good. In Europe, the vehicle underwent a major visual overhaul, making it quite attractive, but according to the manufacturer, the change won't be coming to Brazil.

The model's sales figures are shameful. So far, only 583 units have been sold in 2020.

4. Mini Cooper

The Mini Cooper is one of the most iconic cars for sale in Brazil and truly attracts attention wherever it goes.

The model is known for its excellent power-to-weight ratio, as it is both lightweight and powerful.

Compact and robust, it's a great option for occasional urban use, as its power, wheelbase, and stability and traction controls make highway driving much more enjoyable.

The Mini Cooper currently has two engine options: a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo. Both are powered by... gasoline only and produce 136 and 192 horsepower respectively.

However, due to its high price, the Mini Cooper is a car for the few, which, given the current economic crisis, makes it yet another sales failure. So far, only 335 units have been sold.

3. Kia Rio

The Kia Rio is unknown to many people.

The model, which is produced in Mexico and imported here, was launched in January, but it really hasn't caught on with Brazilians.

Equipped with many standard features, the Kia The Rio has a 1.6 16V four-cylinder flex-fuel engine under the hood, capable of generating up to 130 horsepower when fueled with ethanol. The transmission is a six-speed automatic.

However, Brazilians' lack of confidence in the brand and the model's high price caused sales to stagnate. In total, only 172 units of the Kia Rio were sold.

2. Audi A3

The Audi A3 was once a fairly popular model years ago and fiercely competed for the same class of drivers who liked the Golf.

Over the years, the German brand's hatchback has evolved in terms of mechanics and onboard technology, which has caused its prices to become much higher than the Volkswagen model.

The model is equipped with a 1.4 TFSI Flex engine producing 150 horsepower, running on both ethanol and gasoline. It has a six-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission.

Although it's visually striking, powerful, and packed with technology, the price is a real deterrent. So much so that the A3 is yet another hatchback that failed in sales, with only 119 units sold.

1. Fiat Palio

And in first place among the worst-selling hatchbacks in Brazil in 2020, we have the Fiat Palio.
