The Volkswagen Golf was launched in the European market in 1974 and arrived in the Brazilian market in 1995, when it was already in its third generation. Perhaps few know this, but the Golf is the successor to the majestic Beetle, so the pressure was tremendous for the Golf, since the Beetle was Volkswagen's best-selling car. The name (Golf) is an allusion to the sport, like the car, referring not only to sportiness but also to refinement.

Since its arrival on the Brazilian market, the Volkswagen Golf has found its niche, quickly becoming one of the automaker's main cars in Brazil and one of the country's best-selling vehicles.
