Origin
The Ka is a vehicle manufactured by Ford, with Brazilian production at its factory in Camaçari (formerly in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo). It is also manufactured in Spain, where it is sold throughout Europe, while the Brazilian version is sold throughout Latin America.
It emerged as a hatchback-style vehicle with a completely unique look, and was well-known for its distinctive design. In Brazil, it was a subcompact in its first generation, while in Europe it offered sportier versions, such as the SportKa, and also convertibles (StreetKa).
It later became compact, but it was still a simple car, with mechanics faithful to an excellent popular car of the time. Then came its third generation, full of innovations like the sedan called Ka+ and the new Ford Ka, which made this simple car achieve the enormous sales figures it has today.

Generations
Starting with the first generation of the Ford Ka, launched in 1996, at a time when the Volkswagen Gol was on the rise, it was quite difficult to compete for market share. It was offered as Ford's entry-level vehicle, the cheapest car Ford ever sold, costing a mere R$11,000. Its design was so unique that it inaugurated the "New Edge" design concept, which served as inspiration for models like the Focus and Fiesta. The design is based on a pyramid; the Ford Ka has Egyptian inspirations, and the name "Ka" in Egyptian means "Soul". The Ford Ka had some limited series in our market, the Ka Tecno with 800 units manufactured, and the StreetKa with 37,076 units.
The second generation of the Ka was launched in 2007 by Ford as a 2008 model. There were quite visible changes, but it retained its title as an excellent, simple entry-level Ford car. For enthusiasts, the most noticeable change to the Ford Ka was the design, which featured a more stylish rear end similar to the Ford Fiesta. It also introduced the Rocam Flex bi-fuel engine in 1.0 and 1.6 versions. Its cargo capacity also increased, becoming more comfortable and able to easily accommodate three passengers in the back seat with ample space. The second generation Ford Ka underwent two recalls, and the Facelift and Ka Sport versions were the main models available.
Revealed in Brazil in November 2013, the Ford Ka Concept inaugurated the third generation of the Ford Ka.. With exceptional improvements, without losing its status as a simple car. Soon after, in 2014, the sedan version called Ka+ was revealed, and only in 2016 was the model sold in the European market. Perhaps there is another simple car that has won numerous titles, but not like the Ford Ka. From entry-level model to the automaker's best-selling car, the versions of the third generation Ford Ka boosted Ford, placing it on the sales podium with the Hatch and in the Top 20 with the Ka+, together becoming Ford's best-selling cars.
