The Liberty Pal-V is the first flying car that will be sold. 

It was in February of this year that EASA – the European Aviation Safety Agency – granted certification to the first flying car. 

This refers to the Dutch Pal-V, which was approved by Liberty. 

It's important to mention that the sale was only approved after the company met more than 1,500 requirements. 

The Liberty Pal-V isn't exactly a flying car, but rather the opposite.

In other words, it's a gyroplane, capable of driving on streets and roads. 

Capable of carrying only two passengers on clunky flights that are far from impressive and comfortable, the suggested price is US$$ 600,000, which is in the range of R$$ 3.5 million.

However, it will not be a sales success. 

That's because the company itself stated that it expects to sell only 90 units of the model. 

In June of this year, the AirCar, a prototype developed by the Slovakian company Klein Vision, caught the attention of those seeking information about flying cars. 

The car completed a 35-minute flight between the airports of Nitra and Bratislava. 

The wings are the most eye-catching feature of the model.

When the car needs to drive on the streets, the flaps are retracted, but when it's time to fly, they are deployed. 

The model features sporty lines and boasts a BMW engine under the hood with 300 horsepower. 

According to the company, the model has a range of 1,000 kilometers, an operating ceiling of 2,500 meters, and a cruising speed of 170 km/h. 

Although the flight was a significant achievement, the AirCar is still awaiting certification. 

Therefore, without obtaining certification, it is impossible to discuss prices and the initial sales date. 

That's because meeting the requirements of both road and air transport regulatory bodies at the same time is very difficult. 

Another flying car option, and the first one we'll be looking at here, is the VA-X4. 

The model in question is designed by Vertical Aerospace and GOL has already ordered 250 units.

The vehicle in question will not be driven on the streets alongside other vehicles, but will instead replace helicopters as air taxis.

The VA-X4 has the capacity to transport four passengers and one pilot.

Its powertrain was developed by Rolls Royce and gives it a range of up to 160 km with a top speed of 320 km/h. 

With this power and range, it's possible, for example, to travel from São Paulo to Campinas-SP in 16 minutes. 

Furthermore, another major highlight of the VA-X4 is its quiet cabin. 

Ultimately, the model was designed to be 100 times quieter than a helicopter during cruise flight and 30 times quieter during takeoffs and landings. 

According to the manufacturer, one of the project's unique features is noise reduction, specifically to decrease noise pollution in large urban centers. 

In total, the model has a payload capacity of 450 kg, a wingspan of 15 meters, and a length of 13 meters.

The ability to land and take off vertically allows for landings and takeoffs at helipads without any need for structural changes.

Today, the price of the VA-X4 is R$ 4 million per unit. 

Joby's Series C is yet another model among flying cars. 

Created by the Californian startup Joby Aviation, the model is sponsored by Toyota. 

It is being developed for rapid air transport services and is capable of carrying up to four people. 

The 100% electric rocket can fly up to 240 km on a single charge and reaches a maximum speed of 320 km/h.

However, there is still no release date, nor has a price been set. 

Back in 2006, the American company Terrafugia unveiled its first flying coach model, the Transition.

At the time, it was literally a flying car that could even be stored in a garage, but it needed a runway to take off and land. 

In 2017, the company was bought by Geely, a Chinese company that also owns Volvo and had already shown signs of wanting to enter the flying car market. 

The Terrafugia TF-X is a model that can be driven on the streets and flown, featuring two electric motors and a capacity for four people. 

Sales are expected to begin in 2025, but the price has not yet been revealed. 

One of the most talked-about ongoing flying car projects is the result of a partnership between Hyundai and Uber. 

Named S-A1, the model carries five people, including four passengers. 

According to the South Korean manufacturer, the S-A1 is capable of reaching speeds of up to 290 km/h and flying at an altitude of up to 600 meters. Furthermore, it has a range of up to 100 km.

The 100% electric flying car is powered by several rotors and propellers surrounding it.

According to Hyundai, this is the best model in terms of safety. 

Initially, the S-A1 will be a pilot vehicle, but the goal is for it to become an autonomous vehicle in the near future.

The partnership between Hyundai and Uber aims to move vehicle manufacturing to assembly lines and allow production to reach an automotive scale.

After many years in the market, the expectation is that a ride with the S-A1 will cost the same as a ride with Uber X.
