The competition was free, starting on September 29, 2020, and all challenges were virtual!

Volkswagen alerted its newsletter subscribers, inviting them to put their knowledge and logic to the test in a unique challenge at Escape 60.

Therefore, the main topic could be none other than: the Nivus, the first Smart Car produced in South America.

So, in total, there were 12 qualifying challenges, and the winners of each challenge competed in the grand final. The overall winner took home a prize. Nivus Highline zero-kilometer.

The first challenge took place on September 29, 2020. All competitions were virtual and registration was free! Unfortunately, we haven't yet had any plans for new challenges in partnership with Escape 60 this year, but learn more about this one and keep an eye out for future opportunities!

The Nivus Escape 60 Challenge was a virtual environment experience designed to sharpen participants' skills and reasoning. There were 12 challenges held promptly at 8 PM (Brasilia time), lasting two hours. Those who connected after 8 PM could enter the game, but the resolution time would always count from 8 PM – that is, if a player connects at 8:10 PM and solves the puzzles at 8:45 PM, their time would be 45 minutes. After 10 PM, the challenges remained available on the website for fun/practice; that is, the results would not count towards the ranking.

To make the challenge more competitive and engaging, tips were shared every 5 minutes (on average) with the help of partner companies on Volkswagen Play Apps (the exclusive app store for VW Play).

Each stage had two riddles. Whoever discovers the answers fastest wins the stage. The matches will take place from September 29th onwards, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and will have a limit of 100,000 participants (per stage). There is no restriction on the number of entries, meaning anyone who wants to can participate in all twelve stages, for example. If the winner of the first stage wins another stage, the spot in the final will go to the second-place finisher, and so on. In case of a tie, the player who finished the first challenge in the shortest time wins. If the tie persists, the first person to register wins the spot.

Registration must be confirmed for each challenge, including the final. Registration will open 36 hours before each challenge and close 2 hours before each challenge.

The winners of each stage secured a spot in the final, which took place on October 31, 2020. The final challenge was greater than the others: lasting four hours and featuring five riddles. Whoever discovered the answers in the shortest time won a Nivus Highline in Sunset Red. In addition to the car, the champion won 1 year of free insurance from Porto Seguro, R$ 2,000 credit to be used on Sem Parar services (e.g., tolls, fuel, drive-thru), and a 1-year license on the Ubook app.

All 12 finalists also won a credit of R$$640 in auto services from Porto Seguro, plus a credit of R$$238.80 for home assistance services. Sem Parar offered 1 year of free monthly fees and Ubook gave three months of app licenses.

But if the finalists don't have a car, Porto Seguro will credit R$640 for home assistance and Sem Parar will send gifts equivalent to 1 year of monthly fees.

Therefore, to participate, you simply need to live in Brazil and be over 18 years old. However, only Volkswagen employees, resident third parties, and the Dealer Network are not eligible to participate. Furthermore, any degree of kinship will be permitted.
