1 – Volkswagen 1600

Because of its straight lines and resemblance to a large box, the Volkswagen 1600 quickly earned the nickname "Zé do Caixão" (Coffin Joe), a rather unflattering name, let's be honest, isn't it?

The 1600's mechanics were similar to those of the Volkswagen Beetle, featuring a rear-mounted 1.6-liter air-cooled engine with 50 horsepower and 11 kgfm of torque, coupled with the familiar 4-speed manual transmission. Even for its time, its performance left something to be desired.

With poor performance and a less-than-flattering nickname, the Volkswagen 1600 didn't have a long life and, as a result, ended up on the list of the worst cars sold in Brazil.
