Have you ever considered the possibility of two car manufacturers producing the same car? Something like the Fiat Gol and the Volkswagen Uno? Know that despite some differences, this has already happened and even lasted a long time.

Who hasn't commented on the resemblance between the Ford Verona and the Volkswagen Apollo, or the classic Ford Versailles and the Volkswagen Santana? Automotive industry experts claim that this partnership saved Ford in Brazil, while Volkswagen suffered a tarnished reputation. 

The partnership between the two companies was called Autolatina, and one vehicle in particular suffered greatly from this union: the Escort, which received the nickname resulting from the merger between the two automakers. The car was produced by Ford, but the engine was from Volkswagen. 

The vehicle then earned the nickname "workshop car" due to frequent transmission breakdowns and the high need for maintenance on the included accessories. Almost naturally, the model began to languish in dealerships, quickly becoming a sales failure and considered one of the worst cars sold in Brazil.
