A Bug (or in English B)UggyA minibuggy is a type of small motor vehicle (automobile), generally without doors or a roof, that allows for movement, usually for recreational purposes, over unusual terrain such as dunes, sand, grass, mud, etc. A minibuggy is a smaller version, usually with only two small seats, of traditional buggies, intended for children.

In Brazil, the first buggies arrived in the luggage of Brazilians residing in the USA, who brought the bodies of Bruce Meyers' models and assembled them using Volkswagen Beetle mechanics. The first model to be manufactured in Brazil was the Glaspac, which was a copy of the Meyers Manx II. Soon after the emergence of the Glaspac, came the Kadron, a buggy with a Brazilian design, created by designer Anísio Campos, the same designer who created the Puma. The Kadron was produced at the Puma Veículos factory in São Paulo, and like Meyers, suffered greatly from unauthorized copying.

From these pioneering models, hundreds of manufacturers emerged in the 70s and 80s, taking advantage of the market growth and the lack of imported alternatives. The vast majority of these companies ended up closing, lacking the technical, managerial, or even economic conditions to remain in the market. Some, however, have survived to this day, such as Fyber, Fibravan, Magnata, Tiger, Bugre, Emis, Bugre, BRM, and Selvagem.
