The Palio pickup truck emerged in 1996, as a model on the 178 platform, almost three years after the model that gave rise to it. Strada It arrived to replace the Fiat Fiorino Pick-up and offered many advantages over it. It was larger, more modern, with a greater range of equipment and increased cargo capacity. Initially, it only came with a single cab, in three different engine and trim versions: the basic one was the Working, equipped with a 1.5 Fiasa engine producing 76 hp. The intermediate version was the Trekking, with a 1.6 eight-valve engine producing 92 hp. And at the top of the range was the LX, with a 1.6 16V engine producing 106 hp.
