THE J5 It is a prominent vehicle of Jac which has a very strong presence in the market.

The Chinese brand's mid-size sedan was the first of its kind from the manufacturer in Shenzhen, Anhui province, China – the same region as its rival Chery. The JAC J5 was an important product there, but in the Brazilian market, it failed by insisting on a mechanical configuration that no longer met customer expectations.

Unlike in China, where it delivered 112 horsepower, here the JAC J5's engine was upgraded to 125 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 15.5 kgfm at 4,000 rpm, in order to have enough power to propel the mid-size car. This engine had not yet been used in the JAC J3 Sport, which would later feature flex-fuel technology (JetFlex).
