6 – Mazda Mazda 6 – cursed spiders
Just as happened with Toyota in 2013, when Mazda partnered with Toyota, Mazda models also began to show signs of infestation by spiders. 42,000 Mazda 6 units were recalled after it was discovered that hydrocarbons in the fuel tank vent attracted spiders, which built webs causing negative pressure in the tank, potentially leading to tank failures or even fires. Like the Toyota models, this Mazda recall is one of the most bizarre car recalls in history.
