13 – Chery Cielo – may cause cancer
Have you ever heard of a car that “causes cancer”? Well, all jokes aside, Cherry put 12,462 units of the Cielo and Tiggo on the market with an extra amount of asbestos applied to the intake and exhaust manifold gasket of the engine. Among the most bizarre car recalls, the Cielo is one of the most problematic and urgent. As asbestos is an extremely carcinogenic substance if inhaled, the brand rushed to carry out the repair and asked that no one attempt to fix it themselves, due to the high health risk.
