16 – Jack Brabham
Number 16 is Jack Brabham. The Australian driver won three world championships during his time in the sport.
He won his first two titles with Coopers and his third with a Brabham, making him the only driver to become champion in a car of his own brand.
Jack Brabham's final victory came at the 1970 South African Grand Prix, at the age of 44, his last season in the sport.
His great contribution to British motorsport and F1 was recognized in 1985 when he was knighted by Sir Jack Brabham – the first Formula 1 driver to receive a knighthood. He passed away at his home in May 2014, aged 88.
