And, just like your National Driver's License, it's important to always keep your vehicle registration number (Renavam) with you when you're driving. After all, in case of accidents or unforeseen events with the vehicle, the authorities will require it.
What is the use of this number?

As mentioned, this number stores important information about the vehicle. Therefore, if the driver has any questions about fines, for example, this code allows them to access that information.
Furthermore, in the event of police checkpoints or raids, having the vehicle registration number (Renavam) on hand ensures the safety of both the vehicle and the driver. It's also possible to check if the vehicle's IPVA (vehicle property tax) is up to date.

Every vehicle owner knows they must update their vehicle registration certificate (CRLV) annually. However, since 2020, the document has been issued digitally. So, find out how it works!

The registration number consists of 11 digits in total and is printed on the upper left side of the CRLV (Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate), next to the space that indicates whether the document is a first-time issue. Vehicle registration number and license plate
Many people believe that it's possible to search for the Renavam (Brazilian vehicle registration number) using the car's license plate, but this is not possible for security reasons.
