Alright, let's find out which Chinese car brands are already in Brazil and which ones might come here in 2023.
1. Chery

Despite appearing to be a newcomer to the Brazilian market, the automaker Chery has been here since 2009.
In 2017, it consolidated its presence by partnering with Caoa, thus creating the Caoa Chery brand. As a result, it jumped from 20 to 140 points of sale, with a high investment in marketing.
Well, among its best-known models, we highlight the Tiggo line, which is already well-known to Brazilian consumers. Therefore, Caoa Chery's big bet for 2023 is the Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid. It has been completely redesigned and equipped with a vast list of features, which qualify it as the most complete car in the sector.
2. JAC Motors
So, JAC Motors is already a well-known Chinese brand among Brazilian consumers, as it has been in Brazil for over a decade. With a strategy focused on attracting the public, it offers good value for money and superior quality compared to its competitors.
In this way, he managed to open 50 dealerships in just one day, on what was called "J Day".
For 2023, JAC Motors' big bet is its JAC e-J7 electric car model. It has a bold design, which is a characteristic of the brand. It also has a battery that guarantees a range of up to 400 km.
Therefore, it should greatly bother its competitors in an ever-growing market for electric cars.
3. Great Wall

Well, the Chinese automotive giant is finally landing in Brazil in 2023 with many new features. This is because the company has been researching the Brazilian market for over 10 years, finally establishing itself in the country. To this end, the automaker acquired the former Mercedes-Benz plant in Iracemápolis, in the interior of São Paulo, where it will begin producing its models.
Thus, the initial forecast is for the production of approximately 100,000 units per year, with production expected to begin in the second half of 2023. But in the meantime, its models are imported from China. And the brand's big bet is its Haval line. Its Haval 6 version is one of its highlights in the mid-size SUV segment.
Furthermore, Great Wall also has the Poer pickup truck and Tank SUV lines, which will also be sold here.

4. BYD
The Chinese automaker BYD is another newcomer arriving in Brazil in 2023. It intends to compete with its rivals in the competitive Brazilian market.
Well, the automaker has been in the country since 2015 selling trucks, vans, buses, and forklifts. However, sales have always been direct. Hence the fact that the automaker still doesn't have dealerships. But, by 2023, the company will begin selling its passenger car models.
Thus, their main focus is on their TAN and HAN lines of premium electric cars. The models boast a modern design; the HAN line even won an international award at the iF Design Awards 2021. They are equipped with a range of standard features, including a sophisticated cabin. They also feature cruise control, active lane keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
5. Geely
Very well, the Chinese automaker Geely is still a promising company that could return to Brazil in 2023 in a partnership with Renault. It was already present in the country until 2016, when it abandoned operations due to low sales volume.
Therefore, if its return materializes, the automaker's main model will be the Tugella SUV coupe, which even has a hybrid version. We'll have to wait and see!
6. Changan
So, another Chinese automaker that is also a promising player for 2023 is the Changan brand. Like its competitor Geely, Changan was already present in Brazil between 2006 and 2016, selling its light commercial vehicle models.
Market information suggests that Ford is interested in acquiring the Ford factory in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). Therefore, if its return is confirmed, the focus would be on its CS15 compact SUV model, one of the best-selling in China.
7. GAC Motors
Finally, we have the Chinese brand GAC Motors, which, by all indications, is planning its return to Brazil. In this regard, the automaker has already shown interest in acquiring the Ford factory in Camaçari (BA). Negotiations appear to be underway.
This brand, which is a success in China, reached the formidable milestone of one million units sold in the country in 2017. Its main model is the mid-size SUV Trumpchi GS8, a sales success throughout Asia and in other markets as well.
Well, as we've already said, the Chinese industry has modernized and now produces very high-quality vehicles, with advanced technology and bold designs. Furthermore, it offers models with an excellent cost-benefit ratio, which certainly bothers its competitors.
Therefore, in this article we present some successful Chinese brands. Some are already in Brazil, others are new, and some promise a return to the sector.
