The Peugeot 208 is yet another launch delayed due to the coronavirus.

Seen as a game-changer, the French automaker is betting on the model to return to growth in Brazil.

In Europe, the model was so well-received that it won the 2020 Car of the Year award.

However, on this side of the ocean, we'll have to wait a little longer to find out if the model will live up to expectations. 

The model will feature technologies that are unprecedented in the segment, such as an autonomous emergency braking system and adaptive cruise control.

Under the hood, the automaker promised either a 90-horsepower 1.2-liter naturally aspirated PureTech engine or a 130-horsepower 1.2-liter turbocharged engine.

The presentation of the Peugeot 208 was scheduled for April, but since the vehicle will be produced at the Argentine factory in El Palomar, and the neighboring country is under stricter social isolation measures than Brazil, there is no definite launch date, which is expected to be in the second half of the year.
