Overall, the 2020 HB20 line features four mechanical configurations. There are models with a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated flex-fuel engine and manual transmission, a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated flex-fuel engine and manual transmission, a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated flex-fuel engine and automatic transmission, and a 1.0-liter turbocharged flex-fuel engine with automatic transmission. The main novelty of the new generation is the 1.0 Turbo GDI engine, equipped with direct fuel injection, which is offered in the Evolution, Diamond, and Diamond Plus versions of the HB20. It already offered the turbocharged engine before, but without direct injection and only with a manual transmission.

Safety is also another important detail of the new model, featuring front airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, single-parabola halogen headlights, three-point seat belts and headrests for all five occupants, Isofix system with Top Tether for securing child seats in the rear seat, automatic door unlocking in case of an accident, front seat belts with pretensioners, front and rear headrests with height adjustment, side impact protection bars, collapsible steering column, programmed deformation structure, among others.

For comfort, the 2020 HB20 features manual air conditioning, progressive electric power steering, driver's seat with height adjustment, electric front windows, electric locks, manually adjustable exterior mirrors, among other features.
