Hyundai treats the 2020 HB20 line as a new generation. The platform is based on the previous one and receives many modifications, such as new body attachment points, the use of ultra-high-strength 30% steels in the structure (compared to the previous 19%), reinforcement for side impacts, and increased structural rigidity at 17%. The new generation of the Hyundai HB20 2020 follows practically the same pattern as the old model, but without the impact caused in 2012. The lines of the new car have caused some doubt in the minds of many. 

The HB20 has also grown. The wheelbase has been extended by 20 mm in both the hatchback and sedan versions, now measuring 2,530 mm. In overall dimensions, the HB20 hatchback is also 20 mm longer (3,940 mm) and 20 mm wider (1,470 mm), while the height of 1,470 mm remains the same. The HB20S sedan now has a length of 4,260 mm (30 mm more) and a width of 1,700 mm (20 mm greater). The height remains at 1,470 mm. The HB20X crossover is even longer, at exactly 3,970 mm (30 mm more than the previous model), and has grown 30 mm in width (1,740 mm), but maintains its height of 1,540 mm.
