What is an electric motorcycle?
Well, as the name itself suggests, an electric motorcycle doesn't work with a combustion engine. In other words, its motor is powered by energy supplied by a battery. Since it doesn't have pistons and cylinders, it's smaller and simpler.
This makes its maintenance cost cheaper, since its engine doesn't suffer the wear and tear caused by the combustion of fuel in conventional motorcycles. Furthermore, the battery can be charged even using a standard household electrical outlet. Not to mention that the motorcycle is non-polluting and contributes to reducing environmental pollution.
Furthermore, there are savings that can be made by not having to spend on fuel, since a motorcycle that travels 2,000 km per month with an average consumption of 40 km/l, assuming a gasoline price of R$ 7.00, will have a monthly cost of R$ 350.00. Thus, considering a fixed monthly cost of R$ 129.00 for the battery replacement subscription plan, the savings would be R$ 221.00/month. That is, a reduction of more than 60% in monthly expenses, not counting the reduction in maintenance costs.
So, let's take a closer look at the technical details of the iFood EVS Work electric motorcycle and how to buy one. Stay tuned!
What is the model of the iFood electric motorcycle?

So, the electric motorcycle model used by iFood is the EVS Work, which was developed by the Brazilian company Voltz.
Voltz developed this more robust model with greater range, aiming to meet the growing market for delivery apps. Thus, the EVS Work, in its work version, comes equipped with two 72v 33ah Lithium batteries. They provide a range of 240 km, while the conventional model has a range of 180 km.
However, the top speed is lower, reaching 85 km/h compared to the 120 km/h of the original version.
The batteries can be charged in any standard outlet, and the charging time is around 5 hours.
The EVS Work also comes equipped with an integrated GPS system, 4G and Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry (SmartKey), USB port, two power outlets, speakers, and LED headlights, taillights, and turn signals. Furthermore, it has a load capacity of up to 200 kg and features a reverse gear function.
Furthermore, through a smartphone app, it will be possible to control information such as battery charge and consumption. Also, through the app, remote monitoring of the motorcycle will be possible, with the option to lock the wheels in case of theft.
According to Voltz, a test was conducted with 30 delivery drivers, who confirmed the efficiency and viability of the model. So, let's find out how much the iFood EVS Work electric motorcycle costs and how to buy it. Stay tuned!
How much does the iFood motorcycle cost?
Very well, the EVS Work is scheduled for release in the second half of this year. Its initial price will be between R$13,990 and R$15,990. However, sales will initially be limited to iFood delivery drivers. The price will be R$9,999.00, along with a battery plan subscription.
Thus, the subscription plan can be made for R$129.00 per month for 2,000 kilometers of mileage, or for R$319.00 per month for unlimited mileage.
By signing this plan, delivery drivers will be able to exchange batteries at stations installed in Ipiranga network gas stations.
Voltz conducted tests to identify the regions with the highest demand. Based on this information, they will install exchange stations at delivery points, making life easier for delivery drivers. Furthermore, the app will allow users to locate these stations and obtain authorization for exchanges.
How can I get an electric motorcycle from iFood for delivery drivers?

In partnership with iFood, Voltz will offer the advantage of an exclusive line of credit so that delivery drivers can purchase a motorcycle. However, the benefits will only be valid for the purchase of the motorcycle, along with the subscription to the battery plan.
Initially, the project will be limited to the city of São Paulo. To participate, delivery drivers must have been registered in the city for at least three months and have completed a minimum of 1,767 deliveries, with approval based on 92,64% likes from customers.
