16. Rural Willys

The Willys Rural arrived in Brazil in 1958, 10 years after its launch in its country of origin, the USA. The model arrived in the country as a gift of participation in World War II through a donation from the American army to the Brazilian army, with approximately 600 units.

The model quickly hit the streets and was sold in two versions: 4x4 and 4x2 drive, with 2.6 and 3.0 liter engines respectively, and a three-speed transmission. The Willys Rural is considered by many to be the grandfather of the utility and sporty SUVs sold in the country today, as it introduced vehicle concepts with high ground clearance and front-wheel or all-wheel drive options.

The model is considered one of Brazil's iconic cars due to its sales success. In total, during the 19 years it was on the market, more than 180,000 units were sold.
