19. Ford Belina 4x4
The Belina 4x4 was Ford's choice to attract rural buyers who used pickup trucks but were looking for a versatile and comfortable model. Without a central differential, the model became the only Brazilian station wagon with four-wheel drive. The drive was engaged with a lever next to the gearshift.
The suspension with a rigid axle and coil springs allowed the Belina 4x4 to tackle sand, dirt, potholes, and mud without complaint, while the interior offered space and comfort, as well as a more than generous trunk with a capacity of 569 liters.
With a 1.8-liter, 71-horsepower engine that was quite fuel-inefficient when the 4x4 mode was engaged, the Belina 4x4 still lives on in the memory of many, and is rightly considered one of Brazil's iconic cars.
