The Fiat 147 was the pioneer among national models to use a transverse engine. Another interesting point of this model was its independent suspension on all four wheels, which provided it with dynamic handling, considering it weighed just under 800 kg and had 13-inch wheels. 

The highlight of this car, considered one of Brazil's iconic models, is its ergonomics. Its dashboard was noteworthy for its numerous controls and the fact that the vehicle wasn't perfectly centered in relation to the seat. Another drawback was its extremely stiff and imprecise four-speed manual transmission, which caused numerous scratches for anyone driving the compact car for the first time. 

Equipped with a 1.3-liter alcohol-powered engine that generated 62 horsepower, the 147 brought two joys to its owners: the moment of purchase and the moment of sale.
