Launched in July, the Caoa Chery Arrizo 6 arrives with a very interesting and competitive proposition in the Brazilian market. In its first months here, the automaker offered a discount that seemed attractive to many people, and this boosted sales of the sedan, which had 303 units sold by the end of August.

Although the SUV market is growing even during the pandemic, Caoa Chery has decided to bet on sedans and is going to poke the bear with a short stick, since the Arrizo is coming to compete with renowned names like Civic and Corolla, for example.

But contrary to what many people might imagine, the model has so much quality that it will appeal to even the most demanding.

One of the main proofs that we live in strange times is the fact that mid-size sedans are becoming less obvious choices for those looking for a car in the R$ 100 thousand range. 

Since 2018SUVs have been the choice of most consumers in Brazil, and this became even more evident during the pandemic.

But the Caoa Chery Arrizo 6 arrives to try and change history. With a size to compete with already established cars in the category, the model is a great product available to Brazilians. 

The Arrizo 6's lines are elegant and distinctive. While it may seem small in photos, up close the sedan has a beautiful and imposing presence. 

The large front grille is distinctive and features a chrome bar that runs across the entire front of the vehicle. The headlights are halogen and have elliptical projectors, and there are also daytime running LEDs. 

At the rear, there is another chrome bar that runs across the trunk lid, connecting the two taillights, which are also LEDs.

The model features a dashboard with a seven-inch color LCD screen, on-board computer, multimedia center with touchscreen system, dual-zone digital air conditioning, two USB ports, multifunction steering wheel, and power windows on all four doors. 

Speaking of standard features, the model includes power folding mirrors, keyless entry, push-button start, and a power sunroof.

The transmission is a CVT with 9 simulated gears and sequential shifting via the lever, allowing for smooth gear changes and relatively good fuel economy. 

The model features two driving modes: Eco and Sport. The first is focused on fuel economy and makes the sedan more docile with slower responses. 

In sport driving mode, responses are quicker and gear changes occur sooner. A normal/comfort mode is missing to strike a balance between economy and performance. 

Another missing feature is paddle shifters on the steering wheel. This is especially important for those who enjoy a more sporty driving style. The virtual gear changes are made using the console's gear lever. 

According to Inmetro data, when fueled with ethanol, the Arrizo 6 achieves 7.6 km/L on city streets and 9.4 km/L in the city. fueled with gasoline The numbers improve, and the vehicle is capable of achieving 11 km/L in urban areas and 13.5 km/L on highways.

Furthermore, the adjustment is very well done and makes the car feel stable in tighter corners. The only drawback is that when the axle goes over a larger pothole or very bad asphalt, a knocking noise appears. This is common when the bump stop reaches its limit.

The Caoa Chery Arrizo 6's finish is quite pleasing. It features synthetic leather-like upholstery covering the dashboard, parts of the doors, and seats. 

The plastic parts are of good quality and give the car an air of sophistication and fluidity. The center console and multimedia system frame feature a glossy black finish that stands out in the cabin interior. 

The Arrizo 6 is the largest in its segment. The model is 4.67 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.65 meters. It is 1.81 meters wide and 1.49 meters high. 

The interior space is very pleasant. Passengers in the back seat don't have their knees scraping against the backrests of the front seats or their heads hitting the roof. 

For those in the front, there's no feeling of being cramped. The driver's seat has height adjustment, making it easy to find a comfortable driving position. With all the controls within easy reach, the ergonomics are very pleasing.

And finally, we have the price. The Arrizo 6 is sold in a single version, the GSX, and includes all the features we've shown. At its launch, the model was sold for the special price of R$98,400. Now, at the list price, the sedan costs R$108,750. 

As shown, the new sedan is well-equipped and very comfortable. Furthermore, it boasts a spacious trunk and a high-quality mechanical setup. The price is also quite attractive and should boost sales. 

Tests show that paddle shifters would be welcome. Additionally, a recalibration of the electric power steering to make the steering heavier at higher speeds would be very beneficial.
