It was to be expected that the Ferrari F40 would be on the list of the most beautiful Ferraris in history. The model is a two-door supercar with rear-wheel drive and a mid-rear engine. 

The model was designed taking into account aerodynamic concepts used only in racing cars. However, its sales focus was strictly commercial; that is, it was not designed for racing.

The F40 was the last model produced under the personal supervision of Enzo Ferrari, who passed away in 1998. Introduced in July 1987, the number 40 was chosen in reference to the fortieth anniversary of the Italian brand.

At the time, equipped with a 2.9-liter engine producing 478 horsepower and a top speed of 324 km/h, it was the fastest car in the world.
