3. Ferrari 288 GTO
The Ferrari 288 GTO was built to compete in a newly launched touring car category, the FIA Group B.
Initially, the manufacturer was only supposed to produce 200 units, but demand ended up being better off the track than on it, and a total of 272 units were built.
The number, which also gives the model its name, is a reference to its 2.8-liter V8 engine. This configuration was determined by the FIA for models competing in Group B races in the touring car category.
With 400 horsepower, a 5-speed manual transmission, and a top speed of 306 km/h, the 288 GTO is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Ferraris in history.
