Mini The Mini is an English car brand founded in 1969 by Alec Issigonis and, at the same time, a car model. It has been a subsidiary of the BMW Group since 1994, along with Rolls-Royce. BMW initially marketed the original Mini for a few years, before launching a new model in 2001. The German manufacturer BMW chose to write MINI in capital letters to differentiate the series of vehicles produced since 2001 from the then-exotic Mini. The second generation, designed by BMW, was launched at the end of 2006. In 2013, the Mini was available in seven body styles: three-door sedan, cabriolet, Clubman (estate), Countryman (4x4), Paceman, Countryman coupe, two-seater coupe, and roadster. The 500,000th unit was celebrated in the United States, where it has been sold since 2002. 302 cars were sold in India in 2012 (the year of its official arrival), and a factory was built there in 2013; this is the Countryman model. A new mini-series was launched in 2014 (mini 3-door, 5-door). In 2016, the new Clubman was designed in the same style, but even more so than in 2013. The new convertible was also launched in 2016. A new Countryman was launched in 2017.
