O produto estrela da Jac é um veículo excelente e muito seguro. O J5 da versão 1.5 VVT 16V GASOLINA é um modelo extraordinário que coloca para a briga acirrada contra seus concorrentes e da visibilidade para a Jac.
Além de faltar em motor e câmbio, o JAC J5 era vendido por um preço bem acima do esperado inicialmente, o que ajudou a deixa-lo mais vulnerável num mercado que ainda havia bastante concorrentes na época. Poderia ter alçado um voo mais alto, mas não deu. Na China, o JAC J5 evoluiu somente para um carro elétrico (com 410 km de autonomia), exigência local para fabricantes ligados ao governo, como é o caso da Jianghuai.
