Manufactured by Fordthe EcoSport Run Flat é um veículo lindo, por fora. A maioria dos brasileiros coloca a estética antes da qualidade, e isso resultou com a Ford tirando o estepe da traseira do EcoSport e acrescentar um kit de reparo e pneus run flat em sua linha 2020. Caso o pneu fure, poderá percorrer no máximo 200 km, velocidade não superior de 80 km/h. Trata-se de uma medida emergencial, para que o motorista não seja obrigado a parar o EcoSport para trocar o pneu.
Por conta da ausência do estepe, o cliente poderá equipá-lo apenas com pneus do tipo run flat – que são bem mais caros que os convencionais. Além disso, substituir os pneus por modelos convencionais é proibido no caso do EcoSport, que não pode rodar sem estepe e pneus convencionais por que não foi homologado assim.
